“It was regrettable. That was essentially an interaction with Cowboys supporters out in front of us,” Jones stated during a Tuesday interview. “There was a swarm of Dallas supporters—not New York fans, our fans. The whole venue was brimming with excitement for the Cowboys.”
He further emphasized that the gesture was entirely accidental, happening amid the elation following the team’s last score. “I just showed the incorrect finger,” he remarked. “It was accidentally done. I’m not kidding. Should you call it unplanned, you can. But it got corrected pretty quick.”
