Intensive Russian Assaults Eliminate Power Throughout Ukraine's Capital

Power facilities under attack in the region
The country's energy systems have faced increased attacks in the past few days

Throughout the evening, Russian aerial assaults have caused power cuts in large parts of Ukraine's capital, the Ukrainian capital.

A number of civilians were injured while residents in the city's east were plunged into darkness and dealt with interruptions to water supplies, according to city officials.

At the same time, a seven-year-old child was killed in a different assault in the southeastern region in the southern area, according to regional authorities.

Moscow has intensified attacks on power infrastructure over recent weeks, while officials has called for "substantial measures" from allies to apply pressure on Russia.

"What's needed is not window dressing but strong steps - from the America, European nations and the Group of Seven - in delivering air defence systems and enforcing restrictions," he wrote in a online statement.

Officials stated that 450 drones and several dozen missiles attacked the country's power systems, labeling such strikes as "cynical and calculated" and against "everything that sustains normal life" as the weather cools.

Energy officials said Russia was "launching a major assault" and repair crews were striving to repair systems.

A wave of strikes struck energy infrastructure and civilian homes in the capital.

Multiple people hurt in the strikes on the city have been hospitalized, as confirmed by municipal representatives.

Local officials said the metropolitan region came under intense attacks throughout the evening. A young boy was killed and several individuals were hurt.

The assaults come after periods of air raids in the area, sections of which remain under the control of Russian forces.

All of Ukraine is in a state of readiness for sophisticated projectile assaults, which are tougher to identify.

National leaders told journalists that Russia was purposely seeking to demolish the electrical infrastructure, with strikes already affecting gas facilities.

Officials stated energy workers and authorities were anticipating further attacks.
